The Jacksonville Legacy Series: Bob Shircliff

The Jacksonville Legacy Series is a non-profit initiative, created by Leadership Jacksonville, to document and preserve the thoughts and ideas of the region’s most prominent leaders who have positively impacted the First Coast.

Produced by Lindsey Films, the ongoing series of video conversations with Jacksonville leaders airs on WJCT Television.

A new episode is scheduled to air this Thursday night profiling Bob Shircliff, a leading local philanthropist and former president of Pepsi-Cola Allied Bottlers.

"Bob Shircliff is an incredible celebrity in our minds," says Jill Langford Dame, executive director of Leadership Jacksonville. "His hands and heart have touched an incredible number of nonprofits, so we were delighted that he was willing to talk to us."

"It was so much fun to do this project," says film producer Kent Lindsey.

"He's such a great personality and is the kind of person that, everybody who's seen the show has said, 'I feel like I'm right there in the living room with him.' I think the viewers will get a sense of his heart and who he is."

After each installment of the series premieres on WJCT, it will be available for viewing on WJCT OnDemand, Leadership Jacksonville’s website and YouTube channel, the Schultz Center website, Jacksonville.com and the Financial News & Daily Record website.

The Legacy Series has also featured former Jacksonville University President Fran Kinne, local civil rights icon Alton Yates, and education advocate Frederick Schultz.

"We want this video to be timeless. So that students or community leaders 20 years from now can understand the vision and the reason why Bob made such an impact. Thousands of people have been touched by Bob Shircliff," says Dame.

Melissa Ross joined WJCT in 2009 with 20 years of experience in broadcasting, including stints in Cincinnati, Chicago, Orlando and Jacksonville. During her career as a television and radio news anchor and reporter, Melissa has won four regional Emmys for news and feature reporting.
