The center will be housed in the Military Affairs, Veterans and Disabled Services Department on the first floor of City Hall.

It is part of a five-year, one million dollar partnership between the city and the Jaguars Foundation.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan said the team and community owe much to our returning military and veterans.

"Whether that is employment, education, housing, medical treatment or just a hand to connect them to all the services together we need to return that favor," he said. "That is why when Mayor Brown suggested this partnership between the city and the Jaguars I immediately said yes."

Along with helping veterans and their families file financial assistance paperwork, the center will provide emergency funding for things utility bills. The center will also help military personnel leaving the service look for work in the private sector.

The Jaguars partnership also will help allocate grant money to local nonprofits increase their services to military and veterans.
