The list of proposed road construction projects for the next five years in the six-county Jacksonville metro-area, will be available for public review tonight.

Florida Department of Transportation spokeswoman Gina Busscher says engineers and planners will be on-hand at the agency's Edison Avenue training center to talk about the projects and answer people's questions.

"It’s called our 'tentative work program,” she said. "Each year FDOT updates its five year transportation plan with projects requested by the public, local government and metropolitan planning organizations."

State lawmakers will review the list and approve the funding for the projects when they meet in March.

One of the projects up for discussion this evening is a new plan to widen the Fuller Warren Bridge in order to relieve traffic congestion. The work includes improvements to the I-10/I-95 interchange.

The location of tonight's public hearing, scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., is 2198 Edison Avenue off I-10 and Stockton Street in Jacksonville.
