Jacksonville commuters may be used to the snarl of traffic on downtown’s Overland Bridge on I-95, but changes are coming later this week. As work continues on the interstate, a major traffic shift is planned for the weekend.
In order to work on the existing bridge, the northbound lanes on I-95 are going to be shifted to a new roadway.
The Main Street and Acosta Bridge exits will be closed, and motorists on Atlantic Boulevard and Philips Highway will be detoured.
The shift is supposed to be wrapped up before Monday morning rush hour on Jan. 11.
