Scholarships are up for grabs to help Florida students pay for college. And the application deadlines are approaching.
One is from the Florida Association of Supervisors of Elections. College students majoring in political science, public administration, business, journalism or mass communications have until March 14 to apply for one of three $1,200 scholarships.
Applications must be submitted to the election supervisor in the county where the student is registered to vote.
And Northeast Florida students majoring in science, technology, engineering and math have until March 25 to apply for a Leaders Emerging As Dreamers (L.E.A.D) scholarship through the Jack and Jill organization.
Scholarships of $1,000 to $1,500 will be awarded.
Philadelphia-based Jack and Jill of America was formed in 1938 to encourage and support future African-American leaders.
