The Duval County School Board is holding the first of four scheduled community conversations Monday evening about what qualities are important in a new superintendent.
Former superintendent Nikolai Vitti left the post in May to take the reins of the Detroit public school system. Patricia Willis has been serving as interim superintendent since then.
Board members have said their goal is to hire a permanent replacement sometime this spring.
Monday evening’s community meeting is scheduled from 6 until 7:30 at Terry Parker High School in Arlington.
Duval’s new strategic plan and the superintendent search process itself are also expected to be part of the discussion.
The dates and locations of the three remaining community meetings can be found here.
