ONLY IN FLORIDA do people decorating their home for Halloween suffer serious burns.

A 50-year-old Palm Bay man was hospitalized after trying to use gas to light a wooden cross as part of his holiday display.

Police say the man had been drinking. He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with burns over 40 percent of his body. (NBC News)

ONLY IN FLORIDA do fast-food workers take your order while simultaneously delivering a baby.

This happened in Lake Wales where a premature birth caught an expectant mom off guard at McDonalds.

She gave birth Monday morning inside the Mickey D’s bathroom before paramedics could get there.

Employees rose to the task and helped her deliver the baby boy, who came into the world three months premature.

Family members say they named him Joshua, but reports indicate that due of the circumstances of his birth his nickname will be Ronald. (The Ledger)
