A $63 million upgrade to EverBank Field looks to be on it's way to the end zone after Jacksonville City Council members heard a pitch Tuesday from Jaguars owner Shad Khan.
Khan wants to pay $20 million for the upgrades, with the city covering the remaining $43 million.
Jaguars president Mark Lamping told the council the improvements could lead to the hosting of other events at the stadium, including the College Football Championship Game, and that they are designed to meet the changing needs of NFL fans.
The changes include new video scoreboards, among the largest of their kind in the world, and a water feature.
