Media Roundtable: Gov. Scott Brings Workforce Training Proposal To Jax
Governor Rick Scott wants to pump $30 million in state funds into workforce training. He’d also set aside about $1.5 million for trade and export assistance.
The announcement comes as a new poll shows a very tight race between Scott and potential Democratic nominee Charlie Crist.
Meanwhile, state Democrats continue to complain about a website for the unemployed that has been very difficult to access, delaying benefits for the jobless.
Joining us on our regular Friday media roundtable to discuss this and other stories are our panel of local journalists:
- John Burr, Jacksonville Business Journal editor
- Kyle Sieg, WJXT Channel 4 producer
- Larry Hannan, Florida Times-Union reporter
- A.G. Gancarski, Folio Weekly columnist
Additional topics include recent statements from Angela Corey, a painting of Corey by George Zimmerman, and the latest proposal to fix Jacksonville's pension crisis.
