Food trucks made news in Jacksonville this week after some proposed regulations for the mobile eateries raised the ire of residents and food truck operators. A Twitter hashtag was even established for stories and comments on the issue—#FoodTruckFiasco2014.
Jacksonville City Councilman Reggie Brown announced that he would form a committee of local stakeholders to take a second look at the proposed legislation following a well attended public meeting on Wednesday.
Food truck operators said the original proposal would make succeeding in the food truck business in Jacksonville impossible, while some stationary restaurant owners say the trucks have an unfair business advantage.
