Governor Rick Scott’s announced this week that he’ll sue the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Scott says the agency is stonewalling state health care inspectors who want to check out reports of major issues at veterans hospitals.
"General Shinseki needs to go, the president needs to get engaged, something needs to happen here, they're doing nothing to improve the quality of care for our veterans, they need to show up and start taking care of our veterans," Scott said at a recent event.
Friday morning, President Barack Obama announced that Eric Shinseki had resigned as VA secretary, and that Deputy Secretary Sloan Gibson will be taking the top spot.
