09/16/15: 2016 Presidential Election; GTM Research Reserve; City Year Jacksonville; David Luckin

A crowded field of Republican candidates will take the stage for another presidential debate Wednesday night. Recent polls show Donald Trump and Ben Carson leading the GOP pack. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton remains the Democratic front runner, but Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont is now topping polls in Iowa and New Hampshire. Susan McManus, professor of political science at the University of South Florida, joins us with thoughts about the race and new data about Florida voters when it comes to 2016.

In this week's edition of our Going Green segment, we speak with Kenneth Rainer, environmental education coordinator at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve, about the reserve’s innovative educational programs.

We learn about the work of City Year Jacksonville, an education organization working with Duval County Public Schools to help students in high-poverty communities graduate high school and prepare for college. Dan Foley, City Year Jacksonville executive director, and Tom Caron, development director, join us.

WJCT music director and "Electro Lounge" host David Luckin drops by with a taste of new music heard on the show, and a special CD giveaway.
