01/04/16: 2016 Economic Outlook; Birmingham Hip Resurfacing; Cole Pepper; Hearing Help For Africa

The economy and jobs are so strong as 2016 begins that the Federal Reserve recently raised interest rates for the first time in nearly a decade. However, paychecks and the stock market are still flat. We discuss what could be expected from economy in the new year with economists Andres Gallo, of the University of North Florida, and Dr. Hassan Pordeli, of Jacksonville University.

The new Birmingham Hip Resurfacing procedure at Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute and Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville is providing an alternative treatment for young, active men who have problems with arthritis. Dr. Brett Frykberg, orthopedic surgeon at JOI, and patient Danny Witt join us with more.

Sports contributor Cole Pepper stops by with a look back at the Jacksonville Jaguars' performance in 2015, and the road ahead for the team in the new year.

And we speak with Dr. Douglas Green, founder of the Jacksonville Hearing & Balance Institute and the nonprofit Hearing Help for Africa. His group and the Jacksonville Jaguars are teaming up this week to help donate hearing devices for children in Africa who have lost their hearing due to malaria.
