06/06/16: New Poll On Clinton, Trump In Florida; Katherine Way; Pet Appreciation Week; Cole Pepper

Mason-Dixon Poll

Mason-Dixon Polling & Research last week released the results of a new survey on the 2016 presidential race in Florida.

Hillary Clinton holds a 3-point lead over Donald Trump in the pool, which shows Hispanics are helping the Democrat, and that the newly named Libertarian presidential candidate might be hurting the Republican.

Clinton has a 45-42 percent lead over Trump in the poll, while Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson comes in a distant third with 6 percent.

Seven percent of respondents were undecided.

We analyze the results of this new poll with UNF professor of political science Dr. Michael Binder, director of the school's Public Opinion Research Laboratory.

Katherine Way

Pet Appreciation Week

Summer is officially here, and in Florida that means storms and heat.

We tend to think of humans as the creatures needing the most protection from the blazing sun this time of year, but what about your pets?

Dr. Zachary Neumann from Southeast Veterinary Oncology and Internal Medicine joins us to mark Pet Appreciation Week with some tips for taking care of your dogs and cats in summer.

Cole Pepper

WJCT News sports analyst Cole Pepper stops by with a recap of local sports news, including the Jacksonville Armada FC's win against the Charleston Battery, the Jacksonville Sharks' loss to the Philadelphia Soul, and more.

Sean Birch joined the WJCT team in late 2011 and was with the company until 2016.
