Monday night, the U.S. Senate rejected four measures to enact tighter control on firearms in the United States.
The amendments were proposed following the mass shooting at the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando last week.
Senators from both the Republican and Democratic parties introduced measures they said would have strengthened background checks and prevented suspected terrorists from obtaining weapons.

'The Committee'
The documentary "The Committee" tells the story of the Florida Legislative Investigative Committee of the State Legislature from 1956-1965, led by Senator Charley Johns and better known as Johns Committe.
The Johns Committee aimed to remove homosexual students and employees from state universities.
"The Committee" will air this week on public television stations around the country, including WJCT-TV.
