06/22/16: Same-Sex Marriage; Gabriel House Of Care; DeJuan Roy; Jax Harmony Chorus And Regency Choir

Same-Sex Marriage

This weekend is the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that legalized same-sex marriage.

A new Avvo survey finds increasing support for marriage equality, with 48 percent of Americans now believing same-sex marriage should be legal. That's compared to 43 percent last year.

Jacksonville's Buckman Bridge Unitarian Universalist Church is marking Marriage Equality Day with a day of free marriage ceremonies for same-sex couples.

We speak with Rev. Patricia Ray of Buckman Bridge Unitarian Universalist Church.

Gabriel House of Care

The Gabriel House of Care, which provides affordable housing for adult organ transplant and cancer patients visiting Jacksonville's Mayo Clinic, is celebrating its fifth year of service.

We learn more about their work from Valerie Callahan, executive director of Gabriel House of Care.

Chef DeJuan Roy

Chef DeJuan Roy, executive chef at Alhambra Theatre & Dining, won the special Father's Day episode of Food Network's "Guy's Grocery Games."

He joins us to share his experience on the show, and talk about why he's donating some of the winning's to Jacksonville's Clara White Mission.

Jacksonville Harmony Chorus and Regency Church Choir

The Jacksonville Harmony Chorus and the Regency Church Choir are partnering for a joint concert this weekend at the church.

The show will be a combination of barbershop harmony and gospel music.

Larry Kusic, director of the Regency Church Choir, joins us with a preview of the concert. We also hear a live in-studio performance from the Jacksonville Harmony Chorus' Sapphire Quartet.
