In the wake of the Wells Fargo scandal, we heard from University of North Florida professor Paul Fadil. He and his colleague Bruce Fortado authored a study several years ago that predicted problems banks might face in the drive to find new customers and revenue . Wells Fargo
Earlier this month, banking giant Wells Fargo was slapped with a $185 million fine by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for charging customers millions of dollars in fees through creating fake accounts. Fadil and Fortado wrote about the problems years ago as banks began pursuing more of a sales culture. They authored a report “The ying and yang of introducing a sales culture: The Amalgam Banking Case” in 2014.
First Coast Success - Aubrey Edge
First Coast Energy opened its first Daily’s in 2004 in Jacksonville with hopes of changing the way consumers viewed the gas station convenience store combination. It’s been a success. Burne Mathis of the Daily Record sat down with Edge to find out why.
Rock Steady Boxing
It’s a unique program that helps Parkinson’s Syndrome patients through the sport of boxing and it is taking off across the country. There are 86 affiliates across the country, including on Amelia Island. Sharer and Petty talked about the program. Petty, who suffers from Parkinson told Ross how the program has benefited him in the past few months.
Cole Pepper
It was not a good weekend for area sports fans. The Jaguars and Armada both lost close games, Florida lost to Tennessee and the sports world lost Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez and golf legend Arnold Palmer. Pepper and Ross talked about the events and if Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley could lose his job if the team loses to the Colts on Sunday in London.
