Florida Politics reporter AG Gancarski joined First Coast Connect Wednesday to talk about President-elect Donald Trump’s upset win and other races around Florida and the First Coast. We also heard from poet Andy Rojas and writer Tim Gilmore about the upcoming Jax by Jax Literary Arts Festival.
Election Reax
Nearly every poll and pundit gave him little or no chance to win. But Trump defied the political establishment to win the presidential election. Gancarski spoke about how the Republican nominee was able to excite his base and get them to the polls while Hillary Clinton underperformed. He also talked about local races and what a Trump presidency might mean.
Jax by Jax
It’s called Jax By Jax Literary Arts Festival. The festival in the Cork Arts District is growing, with 25 featured writers this year, a student showcase, and an afterparty and book market. Jax by Jax is coming up from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday in Riverside at Park and King streets.
