Monday on First Coast Connect we spoke with former CIA operative and author T. L. Williams about his new novel and Chinese cyber hacking. We also heard from TapImmune CEO Glynn Wilson about a breast cancer study at the Mayo Clinic. WJCT’s Indie Endeavor host Ryan Benk and 1904 Music Hall co-owner Jason Hunnicut announced a new partnership at the downtown venue.
T.L. Williams
In Williams new novel “ZERO DAY; China’s Cyber Wars” he describes an army of cyber hackers from China working to undermine the U.S. banking system. Williams retired from the CIA in 2009 after spending 30 years conducting clandestine operations in Asia and Europe. He said hacking by foreign governments like China is a real threat to the U.S.
TapImmune
The Jacksonville-based Mayo Clinic is currently undertaking a large study looking at triple negative breast cancer, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense. Local firm TapImmune is supplying Mayo with the TPIV 200 vaccine. They are also involved in a large ovarian cancer study at the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
1904 Music Hall
WJCT’s music show Indie Endeavor will record live performances and interviews with musical guests at the 1904 Music Hall and air them the second Tuesday of every month. The partnership will also include exclusive web content.
