Friday on First Coast Connect, our weekly Media Roundtable featured WJCT contributor Charles Griggs, Florida Politics reporter A.G. Gancarski and WJCT business analyst John Burr (01:14).
Author Zack Clark joined the show to talk about the new book he co-authored, “The Adventurers Guild” (31:05).
We were told about a Saturday screening of ”The Rocky Horror Picture Show” at the Florida Theater with emcee Karissa Wade (46:00).
Media Roundtable
Our panel discussed the reaction to the death of three year old Amari Harley who went missing Sunday at a Bruce Park birthday party. His body was found several hours later in an underground sewage tank in the park.
They also discussed a University of North Florida poll that shows U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson and Gov. Rick Scott in a dead heat going into an expected faceoff next year.
The Panel then turned to a report that former Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown told fellow local Democrats that he will launch a primary challenge against U.S. Rep. Al Lawson.
‘The Adventurers Guild’
They both grew up in Jacksonville and became best of friends at the University of Florida. Then, Zack Clark and Nick Eliopulos moved to New York to start careers as writers. Now, they’ve come full circle, returning home to the First Coast to launch their new book, “The Adventurers Guild”, the first in a Young Adult Fantasy series full of magic, monsters and mystery.
You can come out to hear Zack and Nick speak and do a reading from the first book in the series 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bookmark in Neptune Beach.
Kirkus Reviews calls the book a page-turner with the perfect mix of suspense, humor and engaging characters.
‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’
Just in time for Halloween, and with all-new digital picture and sound, the cult classic, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” screens Saturday at The Florida Theatre. Host Karissa Wade will be emceeing all the festivities. It will include live music 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. by 4Play.
