Paradise Papers

Paradise Papersis a giant leak of information, exposing how high-profile well-connected people and corporations around the world use offshore finance to avoid paying taxes. Politicians, celebrities, very rich people, and multinational corporations were all exposed in the leak. They used complex financial structures to protect their cash from higher taxes. Many from Prince Charles to Apple Computer to Trump administration officials have been caught up in the expose.

America Recycles Day

November 15th, is America Recycles Day.

To mark the occasion, Keep Florida Beautiful works with a network of more than 40 county and city affiliates, including Keep Jacksonville Beautiful, to engage and educate citizens, visitors, and communities to improve Florida through litter prevention, increased recycling, education and beautification efforts.

Curtains

The talented students at Douglas Anderson are performing the funny murder mystery musical “Curtains” Thursday through Saturday this week. It tells the story of a Broadway musical in its out-of-town tryout, and the backstage mishaps that occur when its talentless leading lady is murdered during the curtain call, and the show itself is slaughtered by critics. It will be presented 7:30 p.m. all three nights with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Saturday.

Marvel Universe LIVE!

Super hero action, thrills and drama will soar, smash and burst into arenas across the country,  including the Jacksonville Veterans Arena with the debut of Marvel Universe LIVE! Age of Heroes. The iconic Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man and The Avengers are joined by the Guardians of the Galaxy, including Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, Rocket and Drax, in a legendary battle to defend the universe from evil.

The production will make its appearance in Jacksonville at Veterans Memorial Arena on Jan. 19 - 21, 2018. Tickets are now on sale.
