Women Wearing Red
Friday is National Wear Red Day. It’s to raise awareness of heart disease.
It’s to get women to lead by example, and make the time to “know your numbers.” The numbers being Total Cholesterol, HDL (good) Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar and Body Mass Index (BMI).
It’s knowledge that can save your life. Nearly half of all Americans have high blood pressure.
26.2 With Donna
It’s one of the most popular marathon runs in the country and it’s always for a great cause.
The annual 26.2 with Donna Breast Cancer Marathon is scheduled for Feb. 11. It raises funds for breast cancer research, and also helps local women dealing with the disease. Along with the full marathon there are several shorter runs people can participate in.
One in eight women in the U.S will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime.
