Tuesday on First Coast Connect, ahead of his talk Tuesday evening at the University of North Florida, we spoke with General Michael Hayden, who is a former director of the NSA and CIA (01:24).    

The latest edition of Moveable Feast featured Chriss Brown from 927 Events (25:05).

We heard about Friday’s Environmental Summit at the Florida Coastal School of Law with FCSL professor Eric Hull, Quinton White, Director of the Marine Science Research Institute at Jacksonville University and Kinsley Vassey, President of the Real Property and Environmental Law Society (34:08).

WJCT Music Director David Luckin talked about some of the 89.9 music shows and what’s coming up Tuesday night on Turntable Tuesdays (46:00).

General Michael Hayden

He was on the front lines as the world began to rapidly change.

General Michael Hayden was director of the National Security Agency under Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and he ran the CIA under presidents Bush and Barack Obama.

He’s an expert on the global political climate and on the balance between liberty and security in intelligence work.

The general is in Jacksonville to speak Tuesday night to the World Affairs Council on The Future of Intelligence, an event happening at The University Center at the University of North Florida.

Environmental Summit

It’s an annual event that takes a look at important environmental issues.

The Environmental Summit at the Florida Coastal School of Lawis coming up this Friday.

This year’s theme is Protecting the Public from Harm: Hurricanes, Resiliency and Infrastructure Planning.

The Keynote Address will be by Dr. James Elsner who is a professor and chair with the Department of Geography, Florida State University. The opening address will by St. Augustine Mayor Nancy Shaver.

Turntable Tuesdays

David Luckin talked some special music on Turntable Tuesdays on the Electro Lounge at 9 p.m. featuring Isaac Hayes’ classic album Hot Buttered Soul and some of the other music programs on 89.9.
