He’s a former mayor, state legislator and school board member. Now, Tommy Hazouri is an at-large member of the Jacksonville City Council. He said he opposes the sale of JEA and is undecided on the incentive package for The District.

Child Abuse Prevention Month

American children are suffering from a hidden epidemic of child abuse and neglect. Nearly 700,000 U.S. children are abused each year, according to the National Children’s Alliance.

In our area, DCF reports more than 19,000 suspected case of maltreatment were logged just in Duval County alone. To put that in perspective – that’s an average of 2 reports every hour of every day.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Abuse can come in many forms – whether it’s from neglect, or emotional, physical or sexual abuse.

Cole Pepper

Patrick Reed won the Masters for his first major title, beating Rickie Fowler by a stroke.

Reed, who finished tied for second at the PGA Championship last year, won a major for the first time in his career. He shot a final round 71 to finish at 15-under par for the tournament

The U.S . Women's National Team won 4-1 in Jacksonville on Thursday over Mexico.

It will be a busy week this week for home openers. Wednesday it’s the Jumbo Shrimp’s turn at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville and Saturday the Sharks will open at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena..
