Wednesday on First Coast Connect we spoke with former First Coast High School student Seth Owen. He’s the gay student who had to move out of his house for refusing to attend his family’s very strict baptist church. Owen’s story inspired a GoFundMe account that raised over $140,000. He’s attending Georgetown University this fall (01:19).
We heard about the dangers of land-based shark fishing and an upcoming Florida Wildlife Commission meeting to consider drafting new rules to address the problem with activist Adam Sugalski from Save Florida Sharks (28:57).
Blended Designs CEO Casey Kelley joined us to talk about her company that makes bags, totes and organizational tools that feature characters who are children of color (46:00).
