10/5/2018: Media Roundtable; Avant Radio At MOSH

Our Friday Media Roundtable featured Jacksonville Daily Record reporter David Cawton and WJCT’s Brendan Rivers and Kevin Meerschaert. The panel discussed the latest polling in the races for governor and the U.S. Senate in Florida along the reopening of Chicago Pizza at the Jacksonville Landing and Amazon announcing all employees will be paid at least $15 an hour (01:01).

We heard about a unique audio visual experience this weekend featuring a live concert combined with custom graphics and animation in the Museum of Science and History planetarium.

It’s a collaboration between MOSH and WJCT’s Avant Radio. We are told about the event with Avant Radio’s Keith Marks, planetarium director Eddie Whisler and visual artist Kedgar Volta (19:25).

Friday’s episode was shorter than usual. We ended early to provide live coverage of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh passing a critical Senate hurdle Friday.

Kevin Meerschaert can be reached at kmeerschaert@wjct.org, 904-358-6334 or on Twitter at @KMeerschaertJax.

Kevin Meerschaert has left WJCT for new pursuits. He was the producer of First Coast Connect until October of 2018.
