On First Coast Connect Friday with guest host A.G. Gancarski we were joined by our Media Roundtable participants.

The Roundtable looked at Hurricane Michael’s devastating impact, the Ron DeSantis gubernatorial campaign adding some well-known political insiders and other news making headlines.

Jacksonville media personality Tracy Collins (AKA Tracy Dot Com) joined the program to discuss her new book, Stumbling Into Sobriety, which chronicles her journey to overcome alcoholism. The book is part of an inititive by Collins called The Crushed Velvet Project that aims to take away the shame and stigma associated with alcoholism by sharing her story publicly.

Collins will be signing copies of her new book at Saturday’s JaxByJax Literary Arts Festival, which runs from 1:30 to 6 p.m. at Park and King Streets in Jacksonville’s Riverside area. She be there starting at approximately 3:30 p.m.
