On Monday’s First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross we spoke with Greg Miller of The Washington Post about his new book, The Apprentice: Trump, Russia and the Subversion of American Democracy.

The U.S. Navy was founded nearly 250 years ago on October 13, 1775.  For women, racial minorities, and LGBT troops, serving in the military can sometimes be an isolating experience.

First Coast author and retired naval surface warfare officer Keith Green told us his story of Navy service in the book Black Officer, White Navy.

We also learned about the THRIVE program at UNF. It stands for Transition to Health, Resources, Independence, Viable careers, and Education.

Dr. Tara Rowe, THRIVE program director, and Ron Tucker, junior communication major and THRIVE program participant gave us a look at how the program’s components help prepare those with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) for postsecondary success.

A THRIVE conference will be held October 19 at UNF’s Herbert University Center, Building 43. Additional details are available here.
