Seismic Testing
States and local governments up the Eastern Seaboard are mobilizing after the Trump administration last week cleared the way for seismic blasting off the coastline. It would be the first time the technique to search for oil would be used off the Atlantic coast in more than three decades.
The approval of wildlife permits by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will now allow five companies to proceed with requests to use air guns to search the sea floor, all the way from Florida’s Space Coast up to New Jersey.
Guest Erin Handy is the field campaigns manager for anti-testing group Oceana’s Southeast region and joined us.

Our panelists were:
- Arts Advocate Shawana Brooks
- Toni Smailagic, photographer and owner of Cre8Jax
- GeeXella, performer, DJ and educator
