Mayoral candidates Anna Lopez Brosche and Lenny Curry

Mayoral candidate Anna Brosche has hired a top Democratic strategist in the Jacksonville mayor’s race as she seeks to build a bipartisan coalition to unseat incumbent Lenny Curry.

Both are Republicans.

Scott Arceneaux is President of Arceneaux Strategies and Former Executive Director of the Florida Democratic Party. He’s helping Brosche’s campaign cross party lines to reach Democratic voters. Arceneaux joined us with more.

Starlite Motel Cocoa Beach

The classic novel The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe explores the era of early space exploration and NASA’s strong presence. The Right Stuff is our book club pick this month.

Our facilitator Stacey Goldring was here with Greg Landwirth, whose family owned the Starlite Motel on Cocoa Beach, which is mentioned throughout the book - and is where the Mercury 7 astronauts stayed during their training.

Yuno

Yuno has been called the hottest new musician in the world. He told us about his new EP Moodie, which is getting attention from all over the country. Yuno will open for Matt & Kim at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Friday.

Yuno’s lead single, “No Going Back,” has been played more than 2 million times on Spotify since it was released last year.
