Activists from around the country are coming to town this Saturday for the TakeEmDownJax rally.
It’s billed as an international rally here in Jacksonville to dismantle white supremacy and the monuments to the Confederacy that recall it.
Kristen Kernan and Wells Todd from TakeEmDownJax joined us to talk about what they say is the need to remove Confederate monuments.
The TakeEmDownEverywhere rally is Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 3 p.m. at Confederate Park, 956 Hubbard St. in Jacksonville.
The panel discussion will be the same day at 5 p.m. at the IBEW Hall at 966 N. Liberty Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206.
Emmett Tatter
Author Emmett Tatter spent 10 years in prison for a felony offense, due to mandatory minimum sentencing laws. While Tatter was in prison he found yoga.
He will talk about the his highs and lows of his years behind bars Sunday at the W.B. Tatter Gallery in St. Augustine, Sunday, March 24 at 4 p.m.
MOSH Expansion
Jacksonville's Museum of Science and History wants to double its visitor capacity by the year 2023 and needs to raise $80 million to do it.
MOSH President Maria Hane and Parvez Ahmed, chair of the MOSH Board of Trustees, joined us was to talk about the planned expansion.

Gastrofest is happening at Friendship Fountain and the MOSH on Saturday.
Erin Thursby, executive director of GastroJax, the organization that puts on GastroFest, told us a little about what to expect this weekend.
