Despite the current stats of the COVID-19 pandemic, barbershops and salons are now the latest to reopen for business in Florida.

Restaurants and nonessential retail stores are also following suit, but only at 25% capacity.

We talked with local business owners, Anthony Wiggins, Jacksonville Barber; Bobby Kelley, of Bobbyk Boutique in Springfield; and Kiley Wynne of Taverna San Marco, to see how it's been going.

Grim Reaper

Now that beaches and nonessential businesses are reopening, not everyone agrees with this decision, including Fort Walton Beach attorney Daniel Uhfelder. Uhfelder has been haunting the Florida Beaches while dressed as the Grim Reaper to send a message to the public. We spoke with him to see what exactly that message is.

First Coast Connect Book Club

The bonus that this pandemic has given us is a chance to make time for some good old book reading. We talked with our book club leader, Stacey Goldring to see her latest reads for the month and how she’s handling the pandemic.

Stronger than Stigma

Local group Stronger than Stigma is hosting free virtual events to entertain, educate and inspire, in honor of May being Mental Health Awareness Month. The founder, Gabrielle Magid joined us with more info.

Local music venue, Jack Rabbits in San Marco, closed its door in March due to the pandemic. We spoke with Tim Hall from the venue and Jax Live about a fundraiser to keep it going, and plans for its reopening.
