Confederate Monuments; World Blood Donor Day; Relief Program; Masks For Inmates

Community activists are speaking out about the city of Jacksonville’s decision to remove the Confederate statue from Hemming Park Tuesday.

Mayor Lenny Curry announced that other Confederate monuments in the city will also be removed.

Relief Program Implementation

Naomi Chase with the Jacksonville Public Library helped implement the city’s Mortgage Rent and Utility Relief Grant program. She joined us to share her experience.

Masks For Inmates, Officers

Operation New Hope is working with the Florida Department of Corrections and the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition to deliver masks to both prison inmates and officers. Linda Joseph, Operation New Hope’s COO and Corvus Whitaker, the Ready4Release manager joined us with more information about the program.
