Vaccine Controversy; New COVID Treatment; PLAYERS Tournament; Florida Prepaid

A CNN analysis of data from 14 states found vaccine coverage is twice as high among whites on average than it is among Black and Latinos. 

Some are placing blame on what they see as governments and hospitals not providing equitable access to the vaccine.  

Gov. Ron DeSantis said Monday race is not a factor in the vaccine distribution.  We spoke with local immunologist Dr. Sunil Joshi and Dr. Rogers Cain, President of the Northeast Florida Medical Society Foundation for their take.  

A New COVID-19 Treatment

“Bam fusion” is the latest and new COVID-19 treatment. Dr. Fred Jenkins,  Director of the ER at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville spoke to us with the details.

Florida Prepaid Plans For College

The Florida Prepaid College Savings Plans started its annual open enrollment window Monday. It runs through April 30.  During open enrollment families can lock in a price for a prepaid tuition or dorm plan.  Shannon Colavecchio of Florida Prepaid told us about the program, and why parents should consider it.
