With the holidays around the corner, Amazon customers can take advantage of Amazon Locker service available to ensure protection against package theft.
According to Amazon.com, eligible items can be delivered to 13 Amazon Locker stations across the First Coast. There are three stations in Orange Park, two in Middleburg, one in Mandarin, one in Fruit Cove, one in Riverside, two in Regency, one in Southside and two on Hodges Boulevard.
Upon arrival, customers will receive a unique alphanumeric code to receive their package.
The packages will only be available for three business days after the package arrives. If the package is not picked up, Amazon will have the package returned for full refund. Packages will only be available during business hours. Nine stations on the First Coast are open 24 hours.
While Amazon sees package theft as a major issue, retired teacher Beverly Veleber says she doesn’t see the point.
“I really don’t think so,” she said. “I think people would rather just have the package delivered to their house and take their chances.
