Some Jacksonville Transportation Authority bus riders are in for changes as the transit agency looks at modifying three routes, adding two and eliminating two.
JTA is planning to drop community shuttle routes 300 and 301.
Route 300 currently services the Dunn Avenue area while route 301 rolls through the Oakleaf area.
But JTA spokeswoman Leigh Ann Rassler stresses two new routes will essentially serve as replacements.
"What’s important to know is that the community shuttle routes that are mentioned, 300 and 301, we will still provide service in those areas it will just be in a different form and so we’ve got different routes that will take the place of those particular shuttles,” said Rassler. Those routes will be numbered 52 and 83.
Modifications are also planned for Route 23, which runs through the Southside into Arlington along with route 30, which services the Cecil Commerce Center area.
JTA is also looking at changing route 35 in the Baymeadows area.
