Outgoing WJCT President Michael Boylan Is Running For Jacksonville City Council Seat

WJCT President Michael Boylan has filed paperwork to run for a Jacksonville City Council seat.

Jacksonville’s city election isn’t until May 5, 2019, but more than 20 candidates have already filed the necessary paperwork to run, including outgoing WJCT President Michael  Boylan.

Boylan has filed to run for City Council District 6, according to the Duval County Supervisor of Elections.

David McGowan has been named Boylan’s successor by WJCT’s board. McGowan is scheduled to take over station operations on January 8.

Boylan hasn’t listed any monetary contributions for the race yet, although several candidates have already raised in excess of $100,000. As of Thursday afternoon, former city councilman Matt Carlucci topped the list with $166,326.00 in contributions. Carlucci is running for the At Large Group 4 council seat.
