Jacksonville police say armed robbers appear to be targeting Hispanic victims.
In a news release, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the robberies have mostly occurred in or around apartment complexes and have been committed by multiple suspects.
JSO said the suspects are using a range of weapons to demand money — hammers, guns, baseball bats — and some of the victims have been injured.
Most witnesses report the suspects to be black males, but JSO said descriptions vary widely and investigators can’t yet determine if the armed robberies are connected.
The robberies have occurred at these addresses:
- 5675 Barnhill Dr.
- 10960 Beach Blvd.
- 3534 Smithfield St.
- 7500 Powers Ave.
- 8030 S. Old Kings Road
- 9801 Old Baymeadows Road
