Friday’s upcoming exhibit at the Cummer Museum of Arts and Garden will have a focus on the Navy and its sailors’ activities during World War Two.
There will be 24 paintings and drawings, all from the late Thomas Hart Benton, who created the paintings and drawings in the 1940s.
The artwork is on loan from the United States Naval History and Heritage Command in Washington, D.C. His pieces are valued from $15,000 to $800,000.
Military service members and veterans that go to the exhibit will receive a buy one, get one free ticket in addition to their discounted military rate.
Benton’s pieces will be on display from February 16 to June 3.
