Students grieve outside Pines Trail Center in South Florida where counselors are present after Wednesday's mass shooting at Marjor Stoneman Douglas High School.

Recognizing that those on the First Coast may also be suffering emotionally following the mass school shooting in South Florida, local counseling is being offered.

Florida Blue reached out to let WJCT News know that it is offering a grief counseling telephone line with New Directions Behavioral Health.

At least 17 people have died and 15 have been wounded following the mass shooting Wednesday afternoon  at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Teenagers, or others that would like to speak with someone can call the grief counseling line at 1-800-743-6514 at no cost. Counselors are available 24/7 to speak in either English or Spanish.

Callers do not need to be Florida Blue members.
