Jacksonville Jaguars fans will still be taking it to the bank this fall, just not EverBank.

TIAA completed its acquisition of EverBank last June after announcing the deal in 2016, though news of the stadium’s name change wasn't made public until Friday.

Jaguars President Mark Lamping said in an email Friday that EverBank Field will be renamed TIAA Bank Field in time for the new season.

The Jacksonville City Council will have final say over the name change, however.

TIAA, the parent company of TIAA Direct, bought EverBank for $2.5 billion.

The Daily Record reported a EverBank spokeswoman has confirmed that EverBank Financial Corp. is becoming TIAA Bank after its merger with TIAA, which is a financial services provider.

EverBank has two towers in Jacksonville’s urban core. One is located at 501 Riverside Avenue in Brooklyn and the other one is located downtown at 301 East Bay Street.
