Walmart will remodel its Regency-area supercenter at 9890 Hutchinson Park Drive.

The Daily Record reports the renovation is expected to be similar to the pending renovation of its Mandarin location at 10991 San Jose Blvd.

Both are $500,000 projects, according to permit applications filed with the city.

The projects are described as general remodeling, including interior and exterior maintenance, equipment repair and replacement, according to the Daily Record.

Walmart Stores East LP, part of Bentonville, Arkansas-based Walmart, is listed as the owner. PB2 Architecture and Engineering, of Rogers, Arkansas, is the architect.

The San Jose store in Mandarin was built in 1987, while the Regency location was developed in 2005.

A Walmart media representative could not be reached Monday for comment. reported in May that Walmart is making a multimillion dollar investment in remodeling more than 400 U.S. stores to improve the in-store pickup experience for online shoppers.

It said the remodeling efforts would move pickup service locations to the front of stores and add lounge areas for customers waiting for their orders.

It reported that the investments also include merchandising changes to broaden grocery selections and bring in more fresh and organic products.
