4 Motorcyclists Killed In Unrelated Jacksonville Crashes Over 3 Day Period

Motorcyclist Randell Boyer was killed Monday morning in an accident with a school bus.

Jacksonville has seen a rash of motorcycle fatalities over the weekend and into Monday.

Monday morning a motorcyclist died in a crash on Lake Shore Boulevard at Camille Avenue around 7:40 a.m.

A school bus driver was a making a left turn onto Camille Avenue and turned in front of the motorcycle, ridden by 35-year-old Randell Boyer. 

The motorcycle hit the front of the school bus, throwing Boyer from the motorcycle.  He was rushed to a local hospital but died shortly after arriving.  No children on the school bus were injured.  Our News4Jax partner reported the bus is from the North Florida Education Institute.

Sunday morning a 28-year-old motorcyclist died after a crash with a pickup truck on Belfort Road just north of St. Vincent’s Medical Center Southside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Also Sunday, our News4Jax partner reported a man was killed after his motorcycle struck an SUV that pulled onto Herschel Street just south of St. Johns Avenue.

Dillon Mullis, 23, died following the crash when his bike struck the driver’s side front wheel area of the SUV, causing him to be thrown from his bike. Both vehicles in that crash caught fire. At last report there was no information available on the occupants in the other vehicle.

Saturday night, Luke Porter, 28, died from his injuries in a Northside Jacksonville motorcycle crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported a Chrysler was going south on Main Street around 10:22 p.m. and failed to yield to Porter’s motorcycle while he was trying to turn left onto the I-295 northbound entrance ramp. The car crashed into Porter’s motorcycle, according to troopers  

The driver of the car, identified as Erykah Simmons, 18, of Columbia, South Carolina, was not injured, our News4Jax partner reported. Charges are pending in that investigation, according to the FHP report that News4Jax cited.
