The Duval County school board’s search for a new superintendent is heading into its next phase.
The board wrapped up focus-group meetings last week, where different segments of the community were asked what skills and personal-and-professional qualities the next superintendent should have.
Board Chair Paula Wright said hiring the strategist firm Tucker/Hall to run the meetings will result in more reliable feedback.
“They presented the exact same process and the exact same questions to each group so that when we do receive the summary reports we’ll be able to see from a faith-based look, from a non-profit look, from an employee look, from a community look.”
Wright said Tucker/Hall’s leadership profile report is due March 26. Then a professional search firm will begin looking for qualified candidates.
The school board expects to hire a new superintendent by June 1.
