The University of North Florida is kicking Papa John’s Pizza off its campus because of racist remarks by the company’s founder, John Schnatter.

In an email today, UNF announced it had asked food supplier Chartwells to remove the Papa John's franchise from the Student Union and replace it with an in-house pizza outlet.

The public university’s statement continues: “UNF is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all who interact in our community. We're committed to creating a culture of respect and to providing a path for people from diverse backgrounds to succeed.”

Schnatter used the n-word during a public training call in May, as he later admitted to Forbes and other media outlets. He then stepped down as the company’s chairman as Papa Johns stocks have fallen.
