U.S. News & World Report has released its 2019 edition of “Best Colleges,” and for the eighth year in a row the University of North Florida was ranked as one of the “Best Regional” universities in the South.
UNF was ranked 42nd in the region this year, up six spots from last year. The university was also ranked 14th in the “Top Public Schools” list, 29th in the “Best Colleges for Veterans” list, 58th in the list of the “Best Value Schools,” and 82nd in the list of “Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs.”
“I take great pride in being able to lead a university that is of the caliber of the University of North Florida,” said UNF President David Szymanski. “The University is showing up in nearly every national college ranking, putting UNF at the top of some very impressive lists. These accolades are a true testament to our outstanding faculty and staff as well as the talents of our phenomenal students.”
UNF has gotten several other national designations recently, including being named in The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education 2019 College Rankings, Forbes’ 2018 Best Value College, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s “Best College Value of 2018,” and 2018 “Best Colleges” by College Factual.
U.S. News & World Report rankings are based on a school’s academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving.
