Two months after the Candy Apple Café closed in Downtown Jacksonville, the building’s ownership announced a replacement — MLG, which is Marcus Lemonis Grill.
The restaurant is inside Sweet Pete’s candy shop at 400 N. Hogan St. Sweet Pete’s is owned by investor and reality TV star Marcus Lemonis along with founders Allison and Pete Behringer.
Our Jacksonville Daily Record news partner reports that through social media, Lemonis and Jacksonville-area chef Roderick Smith announced they would bring the MLG restaurant concept to Jacksonville. Lemonis launched the American-style restaurant in Chicago. It offers lunch, dinner and brunch.
Roderick stated on his Twitter feed that he was seeking a sous chef and lead line cooks.
Additionally, server and bartender positions for Marcus Lemonis Grill’s Jacksonville location are posted on LinkedIn
No opening date for MLG was announced. Smith most recently owned and operated Jax Diner and Mother’s Cafe & Bar. Sweet Pete’s opened in 2014.
