Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. is coming to The Markets at Town Center, the company said Monday.
Sprouts said opening and hiring details will be announced in 2019, according to our Jacksonville Daily Record news partner.
“Sprouts’ unique grocery model which focuses on health and value is resonating extremely well in Florida, and we’re thrilled to continue to expand and grow in new communities across the state next year,” Sprouts Corporate Communications Manager Diego Romero said.
Sprouts is awaiting approval of a building permit to turn the former Best Buy into the Arizona-based natural foods chain’s first Jacksonville store.

JEA previously received a request for the availability of sewer service for Sprouts Farmers Market at the address.
Phoenix-based Sprouts, which operates more than 300 stores in 19 states, says it specializes in fresh, natural and organic products “at prices that appeal to everyday grocery shoppers.” It employs more than 28,000 people.
It features fresh produce in the center of the store as well as a deli and The Butcher Shop and The Fish Market.
Sprouts has five stores in Florida in Valrico, Tampa, Palm Harbor and Sarasota and one opening Oct. 24 in Winter Park.
During a conference call Aug. 2 with analysts, CEO Amin Maredia said Sprouts was on track to open 30 stores this year and its pipeline “remains strong with 50 approved sites and 35 signed leases for the coming years.”
The first store opened in 2002.
According to sprouts.com, the company looks for build-to-suit or existing buildings of about 30,000 square feet in free-standing or shopping center locations with a minimum of 140 parking spaces.
It looks for sites with a population of more than 100,000 within 10 minutes.
