Jacksonville Jaguars’ Offensive Coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is looking for a new job.
The Jacksonville Jaguars fired Hackett Monday morning following the team’s 24 to 21 loss to the Buffalo Bills Sunday.
“If you watched the game yesterday you saw the most, possibly conservative game plan you can imagine. Nathaniel Hackett is going to be the first of probably several moves that are going to happen with this Jaguars’ coaching staff,” said WJCT Sports Analyst Cole Pepper.
The firing came within 24 hours of Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette’s ejection from the game for getting into a skirmish that started when teammate Dede Westbrook pushed Bills safety Micah Hyde.
Pepper also reports the Jaguars have benched quarterback Blake Bortles. Backup quarterback Cody Kessler will start Sunday against the Colts.
Head Coach Doug Marrone is likely to hang on to his job, Pepper says, even though Sunday’s game was the Jaguars seventh loss of the 2018 season.
Jacksonville finished the 2017 regular season with 10 wins and six losses and were just one game away from playing in the Super Bowl.
