The Coast Guard along with partner agencies are searching for a plane that reportedly went down Thursday morning approximately two miles east of the St. Johns River Inlet.

First responders received a distress call around 9:45 a.m. from a Piper PA-46 aircraft that was headed to New Jersey from Orando with two people on board, according to the Coast Guard.

Earlier the Coast Guard said it appeared the plane had gone down east of the St. Augustine Inlet but later sent a correction about the believed location where the plane went down.
